Introduction

Model ERA 165The purpose of this program will be to introduce mini implants and prosthetic applications. As the patients become more conscience of their appearance, dentistry has answered the call by developing protocols for the immediate implant placement and prothesis delivery in a single appointment.

This presentation will describe a step by step protocol on an edentulous patient having a new prosthesis delivered and implants placed and loaded on the same appointment. Dr. Tony Daher will present a model demonstration of placement of a mini implant into a Class 2 mandible.

Workshop (Second half of the course)

This hands on workshop will provide each participant with the ability to perform a pick up impression of an implant over-denture on a model. Rubber dams will be placed, retentive elements will be inserted, the internal surface of the prosthesis will be primed and bonded, and the pick up material will be applied and cured around the implant retentive elements. Each participant will also be able to re-align two implant angled abutments and cement them into place. These exercises should give each participant the ability to calibrate themselves in those procedures.
