8 CE & AGD Credits

Introduction

Posterior composite "fillings" are becoming the restoration of choice in many practices. Dentist preference and patient demands are diminishing or eliminating the use of amalgam. While materials and techniques have improved over the years, problems still persist.

The objective of this session will be to present proven techniques that will minimize or eliminate problems like sensitivity, contacts, voids, leakage, contour, and time.

A hands-on experience will allow participants the opportunity to practice the techniques described and demonstrated in the presentation portion of the session.

Topics

  1. Problem solving through direct posterior placement for geriatric, trauma, and other situations.
  2. Bulk placement instead of layering eliminating post-op pain.
  3. Learning "thru-the-tooth" (TTT) polymerization techniques for shrinkage control.
  4. Creating tight contacts in all situations.
  5. Time efficient occlusal shaping and finishing.
  6. Become skilled at using the Contour Strip, a crown shaped matrix and the Triodent Matrix System, a sectional restorative technique
