One Appointment Direct/Indirect Inlay/Onlay Hands-on Workshop

Introduction

Posterior direct composite fillings are becoming the material of choice for many patients and practices. All direct composite fillings are technique sensitive but as they increase in size, controlling contour, contacts and morphology becomes a significant challenge. One alternative is to do an indirect restoration. While indirect restorations are of the highest quality, they also demand a significantly higher fee than direct fillings.

Direct/indirect inlays and onlays provide a one appointment alternative that can be more cost affective than indirect restorations. They also provide an excellent alternative to placing direct composites that end up larger than expected. They are most efficiently done when delegated to an auxiliary for fabrication. The purpose of this hands-on program will be to train any member of the dental team to fabricate direct/indirect inlays and onlays.
