Inlays / Onlays
Inlays and onlays are recommended when tooth loss is too great for direct fillings but not enough to warrant a full coverage crown. They are also recommended for patients that prefer minimally invasive dentistry. (Adhesive technology required).
- High strength pressed and stained ceramic inlays/onlays are an ideal material when a ceramic is desired for durability or when opposing other ceramic restorations. Layering is generally not possible due to the conservative nature of the restoration. (Material options: Ivoclar e-max)
- Indirect composite inlays/onlays are indicated when optimal esthetic results are required because layering is easily accomplished. It may also be indicated when less wear of opposing natural teeth is desired. (Call for material choices)
