Roland DWX-4W Wet Dental Mill

Wet Dental Mill|SKU: DWX-4W

Product Description

Roland DG now offers a wet-milling device for the precise and uncomplicated production of glass ceramics and composite resins. The DWX-4W produces crowns, bridges, inlays and onlays, and veneers at high-speed with its Jaeger DentaDrive spindle and simultaneous 4-axis milling and offers unattended milling convenience and increased efficiency with the option of loading up to three standard pin-type blocks at a time. Featuring Roland DG's famous reliability and product support, it's the ultimate in affordable and dependable milling technology.

Reliable High Performance
In addition to milling on X, Y and Z axes, the DWX-4W rotates pin-type blocks 360 degrees on a fourth axis (A axis) to support undercuts. The ball screw-driven 4-axis control allows for smooth, high-precision machining. The DWX-4W's high-performance 60,000-RPM Jaeger spindle is known for its reliability and supports precision milling of glass ceramics and composite resin. With its multi-pin clamp, the DWX-4W is a wet dental milling machine that can mill up to three different pin-type materials continuously in one operation. As a result, prosthetics for up to three different patients can be produced in a single production run, saving time, labor and costs.

Distinguishing Features

  • Precision milling of glass ceramics and composite resin
  • Jäger DentaDrive spindle operates at 60,000 RPM
  • 4-axis lead/worm screw driven machining that supports undercuts
  • 4-station automatic tool changer
  • Multi-pin clamp allows milling of three different pin-types
  • Features automatic calibration and diagnostic notification system for unattended, worry-free milling
User Friendly Operation
The DWX-4W is designed so that even novice users can quickly and easily begin creating precision prosthetics. The workflow is simple: after installing the material and milling tools into the machine, lab technicians use the Virtual Machine Panel (VPanel) to configure settings from their computer and operate the automatic machine calibration to ensure machine accuracy, then automatically send CAM data to the DWX-4W to begin production. Users receive e-mail notifications detailing any errors, or when milling is completed, while color-coded LED status lights inform the user of current progress.

Combine DWX Devices for a Flexible Dental Solution
The DWX-4W offers wet milling of glass ceramic and composite resins with precision and reliability. For those wanting to combine dry and wet milling, running the the DWX-51D dry mill alongside the DWX-4W wet mill provides the most flexible and productive solution.

Using separate dry and wet DWX devices gives you the confidence to take on the maximum amount of glass ceramic and zirconia restorations without the need for time-consuming, back-and-forth set-up and cleaning of a single machine.

Maximum Convenience
The DWX-4W combines simultaneous 4-axis milling with simple one-button operation. Color-coded LED status lights signal machine status and alerts the operator to any change in machine status that helps save time and materials and enables lab technicians to carry out the milling process with confidence. In addition, the DWX-4W features a 4-station Automatic Tool Changer (ATC) that changes grinding burs as needed without interrupting the production process for a high-efficiency workflow.

Virtual Machine Panel
Unlike traditional CNC mills, Roland DG has replaced the complex controls with a user-friendly Virtual Machine Panel (VPanel) that operates machine diagnostics and the calibration and milling processes from your computer desktop. The VPanel also tracks tool, spindle time and milling progress, and provides a reminder when daily collet maintenance is needed, and tracks overall machine time for maintenance purposes.

Progress and Error Alerts for Error-Free Milling
To ensure effective and error-free production, users receive email notifications detailing errors and job completion, while a color-coded LED light signals machine status.

Coolant Compartment and Water Filtration
The DWX-4W is equipped with a fully integrated pump and coolant system. The coolant container slides in and out, making it exceptionally easy to replace the coolant on a regular basis. It also features an integrated water collection filtration system for maintaining a clean and efficient workspace.

Clean Cutting Area for Precision Milling
The DWX-4W is equipped with an integrated air blower and a water collection filtration system for maintaining a clean workspace.

Economical Open Architecture
The DWX-4W comes bundled with Roland's open architecture CAM software that accepts STL file types. Open architecture allows the DWX-4W to work with the latest materials and CAD/CAM software so you're never limited by older technology. If you already have a production solution, the DWX-4W works seamlessly with your existing scanner and compatible CAD/CAM software while eliminating the need to rely on a single source for materials. Compatible with RML-1 and NC code, the DWX-4W interfaces with your computer through a USB connector.

CAM Software Included
Purchase of the DWX-4W includes open-architecture CAM software that accepts all STL file types and supports the milling of relevant materials. This easy-to-use software features a user-friendly interface and simple workflow that promotes a short learning curve. Its features include automatic nesting and placement options to help maximize efficiency and pre-defined milling procedures for direct software-to-mill functionality without interruption during tool path calculation.

Growth Potential
Highly scalable, the DWX-4W offers multicast capability that allows connection of up to four Roland DG machines to one computer, making it easier than ever for dental labs to expand their businesses and increase their production capacity. The DWX-4W wet mill lets labs control the entire process in-house with a single software seat, maximizing your investment and resources.

VITA Certified
VITA certifies the Roland DWX-4W for milling:
  • VITA ENAMIC®
  • VITABLOCS® Mark II
Other glass ceramics and composite resins brands are also available for milling with the DWX-4W.

Peace of Mind, Reliability and Support
