INTRODUCTION
“Seal the Deal: Mastering Immediate Dentin Sealing, Conservative Onlays, and Modern Ceramic Bonding” with Greg Campbell, D.D.S.
Course Description
Unlock the secrets to long-lasting and esthetic restorations in this hands-on workshop, “Seal the Deal: Mastering Immediate Dentin Sealing, Conservative Onlays, and Modern Ceramic Bonding.” Dive into the science and practical application of Immediate Dentin Sealing (IDS) and resin coating to achieve superior bond strengths and reduce sensitivity. Explore conservative onlay preparation design, effective temporization of non-retentive preps, and advanced ceramic selection and handling techniques. Learn step-by-step preparation protocols for both restorations and preparations to ensure optimal bonding and long-term success. Attendees will leave with actionable techniques they can implement in their practices the very next day, plus answers to their most pressing questions in an interactive Q&A session.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Integrate Science with Practice: Understand the scientific foundations of Immediate Dentin Sealing (IDS) and Resin Coating, and how these techniques improve bond strength, reduce sensitivity, and enhance the longevity of direct and indirect restorations.
- Master Conservative Preparation Metrics: Perform ideal conservative onlay preparations, including temporization of non-retentive preps, and apply preparation techniques to maximize the effectiveness of IDS and Resin Coating.
- Visualize and Apply Step-by-Step Techniques: Learn IDS and Resin Coating processes through hands-on exercises, supported by video demonstrations and case studies, and implement these techniques for predictable clinical outcomes.
- Optimize Material Selection: Compare and select adhesive systems (total-etch, self-etch, and universal) and modern ceramic materials, focusing on best-in-class options to improve adhesion, esthetics, and tooth preservation.
- Bond Every Restoration with Confidence: Understand the benefits of bonding versus cementing, including ceramic thickness considerations, and confidently perform bonding techniques to enhance retention, sealing, and durability.
- Troubleshoot and Solve Clinical Challenges: Address common bonding issues such as contamination, isolation difficulties, and bonding to challenging substrates like sclerotic dentin, ensuring predictable and repeatable success in practice.
