The Marriage of Biomimetics and a Unique Matrix System resulting in “The Super Anterior and Posterior Composite”
Date: April 20th, 2024
Type: Lecture | Hands-on Worshop

INTRODUCTION
Course Description
What Dr. Young likes to refer to as the 21st Century “Super Composite” is really a culmination of 39 years of passion for Adhesion and Composite Dentistry. This course will present in a “wet fingered” dentist’s way the marriage of the “Bioclear Matrix” and injection molding of heated composite with the researched concepts of adhesion that are often referred to as Biomimetic Dentistry. You will learn that tooth structure is the most valuable material we have in dentistry, use it don’t lose it. You will find out that extreme bonding to some has been the norm to others.
Upon Completion of this course the participants will learn:
– Techniques using the Bioclear posterior and anterior matrix system that will change dramatically the way you look at composites from now on.
-What IDS (Immediate Dentin Sealing) and resin coating is and how they solve almost all problems with adhesive dentistry.
-How to combine IDS and injection molded composites, with techniques using the Bioclear posterior and anterior matrix system that will change dramatically the way you look at composites from now on.
– Learn contemporary composite injection technique.
– Natures best restorative material, enamel and dentin. Learn how to use it not loose it.
– The technique for IDS (Immediate Dentin Sealing), “the most important advancement in adhesion dentistry.
– Deep margin elevation when and how to do it.
-Direct Cuspal Replacements
– How to handle the dreaded black triangle in anterior teeth
– How to predictably handle diastema closures and large Cl 4’s with advanced techniques utilizing composite layering techniques and the Bioclear matrix
Hands-on portion of the course (Attendance of the lecture is required for the hands-on portion}
Course Instructor:
Dr. Richard Young
Dr. Richard Young received his dental training at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in 1985. He is an Assistant Professor of General Dentistry at LLUSD where he lectures for and co-directs the D4 esthetics program. Dr. Young was a very early adopter of advanced adhesion techniques in dentistry and has acquired a wealth of knowledge and clinical experience on minimally invasive dentistry. He has also used photography in his practice for 37 years. He is known for his expertise in digital photography and has inspired countless colleagues to adopt digital photography in their practices. He lectures and gives hands-on workshops internationally on both advanced adhesive dentistry (often referred to now as “Biomimetic Dentistry”), Bioclear Matrix/Injection molding techniques, and digital photography. Dr. Young maintains a private practice with his wife focusing on esthetic and minimally invasive dentistry. He has many interests outside of dentistry and spends as much time as possible with his family enjoying activities centered around the outdoors.
