INTRODUCTION

This 2-day seminar consists of lecture and a hands-on portions. The seminar begins with Dr. Tony Daher outlining the problems encountered with diagnosing partially edentulous patients with implants. Fixed Partial Dentures (FPD) on implants presents numerous challenges to the clinician. These challenges can vary from simple functional and esthetic problems to more complicated ones. An organized treatment plan is necessary to overcome these problems leading to predictable and acceptable results. A variety of treatment options and prosthesis designs will be described. Many clinical situations will be presented with a step-by-step simplified approach.

 

Lecture

  • Conventional FPD’s vs. implant FPD’s
  • Magic number of implants needed
  • Sequencing for optimal results
  • Post-Operative maintenance

Hands-On

  • ‘Nuts and bolts’ of implant systems
  • Open vs. Closed impressions
  • Screw retained in the ‘esthetic zone’
